Happy Mardi Gras!

Laissez les bons temps rouler! Let the good times roll!

It’s the third holiday in a week. So even I, the ultimate holiday celebrator, am a bit worn out. So tonight, instead of making a big dish (I’m still eating the leftovers from Losar and Ramadan), I made a Shrimp Po’ Boy sandwich. It celebrates the purple (plate), green (lettuce), and gold (remoulade sauce) that are the traditional colors of Mardi Gras.

However, it has been a busy week and not so much a party night tonight. Still, I’m trying to keep the festive experience of Mardi Gras in my life.

However, in my life, the real party this week is at our Spiritual Center on Sunday, March 9. We are having our first Homecoming service this Sunday, inviting our current members and former members that we haven’t seen for a while to come together for friendship, fellowship, and food. If you are in the Triangle region and would like to come, let me know and I’ll give you the details.

Times can seem hard these days. But let’s continue the traditions of celebrating our lives, our communities, and our relationships with each other.
