Please Celebrate The International Day of Peace on Sunday, September 21 with a Minute of Silence at Noon Wherever You Are

Since 1981, the UN has established September 21 as the International Day of Peace. The theme for 2025 is Act Now for a Peaceful World. You can see many suggestions for ways you can take action towards peace at their website: https://www.un.org/en/observances/international-day-peace. You can even record your acts of peace on their app, AWorld, which is available on the Apple or Google app pages.

But most of all, they are asking all of us to have a minute of silence on behalf of World Peace on Sunday, September 21 at noon. It should be at noon wherever you are, so you don’t have to coordinate with Greenwich Time or anything. So it will be 24 hours of moments of silence as different parts of the world reach noon. The UN envisions it as a wave of peace sweeping around the planet.

I’ve already set my alarm. I hope you will join us, whenever it is noon for you. During a time where there seems to be a lot of conflict and disharmony, surely we can all unite in our dreams for peace…not just for ourselves, but for everyone around the globe. But we need to start with ourselves.

Act Now. Take a moment for peace at noon on Sunday.
