This week is Thanksgiving, our national celebration of gratitude. Now, there are many things going on right now that seems like they aren’t things we should be grateful for. We may be heading towards war in Venezuela, the peace treaty may be breaking down in Gaza, and our President has given Ukraine an ultimatum to agree with a peace treaty that doesn’t seem very favorable to them, although today’s news seems to believe that the US is developing a fairer agreement. And those are just the wars. I have a number of friends who are experiencing personal struggles, and so many people are suffering from the governmental shutdown and cut backs. But nonetheless, I try to focus on gratitude for the good instead of complaining about the bad. And I try to believe there is good even behind what I judge to be “bad.”
