My name is Carol Cross.  I was born in London, grew up around and spent my early career in Washington DC, and now live with my family in Cary, North Carolina (the Research Triangle area outside Raleigh). I am a mother, a teacher, a writer, a coach, and a spiritual practitioner.  Lately, I’ve been a fierce defender of democracy.   I also call myself a Soul Storysmith. I work with people to master the stories they tell themselves about their lives, their loves, their legacies, and their world. I believe that our stories, maybe not completely, but to a large part, determine what happens in our lives. So let’s tell the stories that empower and inspire us, not the ones that bring us down.

Joseph Campbell famously said, “Follow Your Bliss.”  But what if you don’t know what your bliss is?  Or maybe you think you know what your bliss should be, but you find it hard to achieve or maintain it while dealing with all the stresses and realities in contemporary life.
