Of course, Barbra Streisand is more than just a Broadway star. But Broadway was where she got her start (who can forget her Fanny Brice?) and her Broadway songs are many of my favorites of her recordings, so I’m counting her as a Broadway Blessing.
On May 5, Barbra released this video in honor of health care workers and other on the front lines of allowing life to go on during this time of the coronavirus pandemic, featuring her version of a song from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway musical Carousel:
With this video, she asks anyone who is able to do so to donate to Direct Relief, an organization dedicated to providing protective gear to medical and other workers struggling to save people from this disease.
