I’m not a great believer in New Year’s Resolutions, but I also know that there are many New Years and so many times to make/change/recommit to changes we want to see in our lives. Tonight, in North Carolina, is the Tibetan New Year, known as Losar. It has many of the same traditions as Chinese … More Happy Losar (Tibetan New Year) Everyone!
“过年好！” (Guònián hǎo!). According to the Internet, that means Happy New Year in some variety of the Chinese languages, although I don’t know if that is true. If not, those in the know please correct me. This Wednesday, January 29, is the Chinese Lunar New Year. Now, there are several other Asian New Years coming, … More Motivational Music Monday: Lunar New Year Edition-A Million Possibilities
So, here it is, January 6th. January 6 in the Christian religion is Epiphany, the day the three Wise Men arrived bringing gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh for the baby Jesus. Happy Fourth of July! Except for so many people, it doesn’t seem to be…happy, that is. The South and Midwest are suffering under dangerously high heat. I first read Marianne’s comments on Juneteenth from her daily newsletter TRANSFORM with Marianne Williamson. Marianne encourages us to open our hearts to experience the horror and pain of the truth of our country’s history of enslaving Black people. … More Happy Juneteenth 2023
