Show Your Love for Mother Nature! Join Earth Hour Tonight

Last night we had a gathering of some of the people in my spiritual center around this Spring Altar. I plan to use this again tonight in my celebration of a global Earth Hour.

Earth Hour is easy. To participate, at 8:30 PM local time (mine is East Coast US, which I think is GMT-5), you turn off all artificial lights. Or, at least, as many as possible. You keep them off for an hour. You also should minimize other uses of electricity–again, as much as is possible for your situation. The suggestion is also to spend that time doing something to benefit Mother Earth.

So tonight at 8:31, I will be sitting and working by candlelight. And/or I have a fireplace, so I might light a fire. I will meditate and pray for the well-being of our planet and all its inhabitants: two-leggeds, four-leggeds, winged, finned, leafed, fungal, and all other living things. I don’t have a great track record of growing things, but I think I will try to plant some local seedlings of small plants that are good for bees and/or butterflies. And we will see what other things I can come up with to demonstrate my gratitude for this wonderful world that I, at least, tend to take for granted.

Hope you will join the millions of us who will be participating this year!

    1. Thank you so much! It seems like a little thing, but a little thing done by millions of people becomes a big thing. Thanks for joining in for this lovefest for Mother Earth πŸŒŽβ€οΈπŸ•―οΈ

  1. Carol,

What a great thing to do and a great place to honor. As MapQuest says – ” are here.” Best to make the best of it. I will think of Earth Day not only for the future but as something to practice today, tomorrow, and on. Love it.
